What is culture? What is my culture?

  1. What is culture?  What is my culture?
Culture: the arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively.

1. Here is how I see American culture. Here in America there is a lot of room to be creative and express yourself, and a lot of things to do that can show you how our culture is different from others. Most of us are really family oriented and like to have family dinners and go do things as a family because it's a really important thing in America to have a good relationship with family. Overall, we're pretty nice people and very accepting so there's no use in being nervous. I feel the biggest shock will be the difference in food and transportation. We have so many fast food restaurants and fried food it would be totally different.

2. I did have a cultural shock when I went to Costa Maya, Mexico last October with my mom. The "mall" was an outdoor strip mall but two stories it was so weird, and the venders came up to you trying to give things to you and make you buy random things. The shops were small and some on the first floor had dirt floors. Another thing is they were all telling me don't drink the water, what happens if someone can't afford the bottled water how will they get clean drinking water? It made me appreciate how nice and developed the US is.
